Air springs and shock absorbers

The fatigue strength testing of air springs, shock absorbers and spring damper systems on the test bench is essential for ensuring service life. For this task we have developed four test benches that permit testing under realistic environmental conditions and the simulation of axle kinematics.

In addition to endurance testing, we offer functional testing and record static and dynamic characteristics. We also support you in creating test programmes: from determining loads during vehicle operation to test bench-oriented optimisation of the test programmes.

AHAP – two-axis servo-hydraulic test bench

  • Testing with original axle set-up with display of steering kinematics.
  • Maximum static load: ±100 (vertical), kN ±10 kN (horizontal)
  • Maximum dynamic load: ±80 kN (vertical), ±8 kN (horizontal)
  • Maximum stroke: ±125 mm (vertical), ±50 mm (horizontal)
  • Maximum piston speed: ±3.0 m/s (vertical), ±0.5 m/s (horizontal)
  • Temperature range: -40℃ to +100°C
  • Number of test items: 1
  • Measured variables: Path, force, pressure, and temperature
  • Signals: Block programs (sine), superimposed sine or BLNV.
  • Water cooling: with cooling jackets.
  • Shock absorber current (max. current source)

FDP 50 and FDP 63 – single-axis servo-hydraulic test benches

  • Maximum static load: ±63 kN
  • Maximum dynamic load: ±50 kN
  • Maximum stroke: ±125 mm
  • Maximum piston speed: ±2.0 m/s
  • Frequency range: 0 to 20 Hz
  • Maximum mounting height: 1,000 mm
  • Temperature range: -40℃ to +100°C
  • Number of test items: 2 or 4
  • Measured variables: path, force, pressure, and temperature
  • Signals: block programs (sine), superimposed sine or BLNV.
  • Optional simulation: axle kinematics via sliding bed with roller guides.
  • Transverse force via pneumatic cylinders.
  • Specified voltage for current feed units supplied.
  • Water cooling/air cooling.

FDP 100 – single axis servo-hydraulic test bench

  • Maximum static load: ±100 kN
  • Maximum dynamic load: ±80 kN
  • Maximum stroke: ±25 mm
  • Maximum piston speed: ±3.0 m/s
  • Frequency range: 0 to 20 Hz
  • Maximum mounting height: 800 mm
  • Temperature range: -40℃ to +100°C
  • Number of test items: 2 or 4
  • Measured variables: path, force, pressure, and temperature
  • Signals: block programs (sine), superimposed sine or BLNV.
  • Optional simulation: axle kinematics via sliding bed with roller guides.
  • Axle kinematics simulation via rocker
  • Transverse force via pneumatic cylinders.
  • Specified voltage for current feed units supplied.
  • Water cooling/air cooling.
