Space Simulation Chamber WSA/TVA

Simulation of space conditions such as high vacuum, low background temperature and sun exposure in our space simulation chamber WSA/TVA

  • High vacuum < 10-5 mbar
  • Temperature range < 100 K - 385 K
  • Sun intensity up to 1900 W/m2, omnidirectional exposure Ø 3.6 m or rectangular exposure at 3.05 x 4.5 m.
  • Free motion of the test object relative to sun exposure via motion simulator
  • 5 thermal vacuum chambers with diameters of 2 to 6.8 m
  • Sun simulation / thermal balance tests and infrared simulation
  • Thermal vacuum tests
  • Bakeout tests
  • Ambient pressure thermal cycling tests (APTC)
  • Thermal distortion tests (deformation measurements)
  • Leak tests
  • Ascend and re-entry simulations
  • Qualitative and quantitative contamination analyses
  • Development of thermal / vacuum test facilities
  • Acquisition of physical data at high sampling speeds (e. g., pressure, solar intensity)
  • Temperature range from -262° C up to 155° C
