IABG inaugurates newly established technology centre at Lichtenau location

After a one-year construction phase, IABG today opens its newly constructed technology centre at the location Lichtenau.

IABG has researched technology in Lichtenau with the goal of ensuring optimum in-combat protection for soldiers for many years. Among the issues examined by IABG are the protection of vehicles against current and future threats, passenger protection, and research with regard to new protection materials as well as testing protection solutions for different platforms and buildings.

Thanks to its modern design, the newly established technology centre is appealing, offering 22 offices with 44 workplaces across three floors at the same time. In addition to that, the new building comes with a conference centre suited for professional events with up to 100 participants.

In its new technology centre, IABG will continue to develop its portfolio within the platform protection sector. For some years already, IABG has structurally tested aircraft at the Lichtenau location, e.g. with regard to hail impact and rotor blades. Future fields of IABG’s activity in Lichtenau are derived from the interdisciplinary area of functional safety and the monitoring of wind energy facilities.

IABG celebrates the inauguration of its new building together with guests from the worlds of politics, business and academia. In the context of the event, IABG presents its service portfolio and grants insight into its testing facilities and experimental set-ups at the location Lichtenau.

“With our new technology centre we have the opportunity of further expanding our service portfolio within protection and impact testing”, comments Professor Dr Rudolf F. Schwarz, IABG’s CEO. “We hence generate an increase in value our customers will particularly profit from”.
