Modernised multi-axis shaker enlarges IABG‘s test stand portfolio

With the modernized hydraulic multi-axis oscillation table (HyMAS) IABG has implemented yet another state of the art testing facility. The HyMAS allows stress simulation on components or complete systems in all six degrees of freedom and thus helps to test and qualify them for use. The multi-axis oscillation table, developed and realized by IABG, offers a variety of testing possibilities as illustrated by the large range of test items from the sectors energy engineering, rail traffic, automotive, aviation and navigation.

Modernizing the test stand could be carried out within a project time of six months only. The hydraulic system was partly renewed, and the measuring and control unit was modernized. A significant increase in output could thus be reached. Apart from collecting the test stand’s excitation data and the resulting table acceleration, this ultramodern measuring system permits the collection of another 32 acceleration channels, altogether 24 measuring channels - alternatively DMS or inductive sensors - as well as the acquisition of additional analogue and digital signals. Via the now available external interfaces, custom measurement systems can be directly controlled and be completely integrated in the test operation. This applies to the whole process from recording measurement data up to its analysis and evaluation. The control system, developed by IABG for this purpose, offers various possibilities including the iteration of time signals at the test stand.

Our test laboratories are accredited according to DIN EN ISO 17025 and fulfil the high quality requirements within the sectors vibration testing and earthquake simulation. Beyond that they are subject to regular quality control tests by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS). In the context of our co-operation with product manufacturers and system operators in the area of oscillation testing we have carried out over 800 individual tests in the past years. This impressively underlines our know-how as testing and development house.
