IABG qualifies drive section for the Aquamarine wave power plant |

In a sealed-off security area of the IABG test and analysis centre, the drive section of an innovative wave power plant was put into operation for the first time and was qualified with regard to its vibration behaviour. The drive train of Calder GmbH, a subsidiary of the Flowserve group, consists of a basic steel frame on which a Pelton turbine, a mass flywheel and a generator are installed. [more...] |

Bauhaus Luftfahrt welcomes IABG as new member |

Bauhaus Luftfahrt is expanding its circle of members. From 1 January 2012, the Ottobrunn-based Industrieanlagen-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH(IABG) will complement the existing support base of industry companies that since the foundation of Bauhaus Luftfahrt in 2005 consists of EADS, MTU Aero Engines and Liebherr-Aerospace. All supporting members of Bauhaus Luftfahrt have recently approved a corresponding application filed by IABG in August. [more...] |

A unique characteristic of the facility with a base area of 5000 sqm is that the hall, the load-bearing mounting floor and - in particular - the infrastructure consisting of a transformer system with low-voltage distribution, hydraulic pumps, compressors and cooling systems are modular and mobile.
