Conception, Performance of fatigue test on complete airframes, subsystems and components
- Development of test concepts (loading, control and data acquisition systems, restrain system, etc.)
- Determination of service life
- Investigations into damage tolerance characteristics, crack propagation and residual strength
- Test planning, engineering and set up
- Design, manufacturing, installation of test rig; load introduction systems (pads, fittings, whiffle trees); dummies (e.g. engine, landing gear, flap track, pylon)
- Simulation by FE- and system simulation models
- Development of loading programs
- Management of transportation of test structures to the test site
- Integration of the test specimen into the test set up
- Development and design and installation of hydraulic loading system
- Development and design and installation of pneumatic loading system (for fuselage pressurisation, fuel tank pressurisation, etc.)
- Development and installation of control and monitoring system (high test speed!)
- Development and installation of data acquisition system
- Configuration and installation of measurement sensors (strain gages, deflection transducer, thermo couples, etc.)
- Performance of static measurements, evaluation of results
- Performance of test structure inspection, damage investigation
- Documentation of all test results
