Extreme ambient conditions for aerospace structures make very high demands on
materials and reliable functioning of the complete systems.
In our thermal tests facilities, we uncover the inaccuracies of the theoretical calculations and facilitate
optimization. Under simulated space conditions, we test the reliable functioning of components and systems.
By simulating temperature profiles and thermo-mechanical load states, we can demonstrate the suitability of
newly developed materials, components and systems for use under extreme conditions.
For these kind of tests various test facilities are available at IABG:
- Chamber diameter from 1.2 up to 6.2 m
- Chamber volume from 5 up to 500 m3
- Vacuum pch < 10-5 mbar
- Temperature range from 88 K up to 423 K
