IABG lays foundation-stone for a Protection Technology Centre at the Lichtenau location

On 19 September IABG lays the foundation-stone for its new Protection Technology Centre at its Lichtenau location.

IABG has been working on latest technologies  in Lichtenau for many years, offering optimum protection to soldiers in mission.
This comprises the protection of vehicles against threats, passenger protection, testing of new protection materials as well as the protection of camps and buildings.

The new Technology Centre is held in a modern design and will accommodate 22 offices across three levels, with 44 workplaces for highly-qualified employees. It will allow IABG to offer space to its partner enterprise, GST/RUAG, for the development activities of their employees.
The new building furthermore comes with a modern conference centre where specialised meetings with up to 100 participants can be held.

In its new Technology Centre IABG will continue to develop their portfolio within the protection sector, not least within the civilian range. Apart from the area of structural aircraft testing  such as hail impact or rotor blade testing  that has existed for some years  building element tests will play an increasingly important role. Further fields of activity of IABG in Lichtenau will open up in the area of functional security and monitoring of wind energy facilities.

When laying down the foundation stone, which IABG celebrates in the presence of distinguished guests, a document containing data on the building project will be added. Completion of the building is scheduled for the coming year.

“With our Protection Technology Centre at the Lichtenau location we offer our employees an optimal work environment”, states Prof. Dr. Rudolf F. Schwarz , Managing Director of IABG.

“With this step we will, at the same time, strengthen the synergies to our technology partners. For IABG this creates the best conditions to further promote their technology lead within the protection sector.“
