IABG opens its doors on German Aerospace Day

This year, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) will once again be hosting the national "German Aerospace Day”. We will also be opening our doors to the public on

Sunday, 16th September 2007,
from 10 am to 5 pm,

allowing you to experience the aerospace industry up close and personal.

Look forward to a diverse programme of events, including interesting guided tours through our Space Test Centre and our Magnetic Field Simulation Facility. Visit our Space Test Centre and witness thermal tests, structural experiments on the Tornado and various component-based experiments. We will also be giving guided tours of our teleport for the first time, where you will be introduced to internet via satellite as a complete "end to end" communications solution.

Guided tours of our modern Simulation, Integration and Test Centre, include an introduction to networked simulations, exercises and tests from the field of defence via a film created using multi-screen split technique.

As a special highlight, there will also be a chance to win flights in our flight simulator, the top prizes in our raffle. The length of the guided tours varies between 30 minutes and an hour. The range of events is rounded off by special children's tours on selected topics and a creative kid's entertainment programme. We will also be serving a selection of snacks and beverages at family-friendly prices.

The IABG looks forward to giving you a warm welcome on 16th September at the German Aerospace Day!
