ILA 2006 – A Total Success

With a 25% increase to 250,000 visitors the largest German International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) ended with record attendances, impressively underlining the importance of Germany as a centre for the aerospace industry. The presentation of numerous innovations, the largest conference and delegation programme to date and numerous flight show interludes dominated events at the exhibition on the southern section of Berlin-Schönefeld airport.

For the first time, the IABG exhibition stand was devoted to aerospace and defence. For our Space business field, we had also booked a stand in the so-called “Space World”, given our close proximity to our space flight customers. German and European space flight missions, which were presented under the slogan “SPACE FOR LIFE”, proved to be a real magnet, attracting high visitor numbers.

The A380, which made daily tours over the ILA, was the undisputed star of the ILA flight programme. IABG also benefited from this enthusiasm for the new megaliner as our mobile model of the A380 fatigue test was also an attraction. This gave us an opportunity to enjoy numerous customer contacts and excellent discussions with high-ranking representatives from the world of politics and the economy.

This time our competent flight test team presented the new test management system to the enthusiastic audience. With this, it is possible to manage a complete test campaign, from the test requirements to the test order, including all aircraft modifications. The test management system was developed by IABG in conjunction with our cooperation partner CAM.

Our HiMoNN experts from the InfoKom field took advantage of the situation: acting on wishes of the Ministry for the Interior, in conjunction with Robowatch they set up a demonstration project demonstrating how the mobile surveillance robots from Robowatch, equipped with our HiMoNN product, supported the security forces at the ILA.
