From 1 to 5 March 2011, the CeBIT in Hanover was the central meeting point of exhibitors and professionals from the information and communication technologies sector.
IABG as well used this important trade fair as an opportunity to present its portfolio in the area of InfoCom to an interested public. IABG’s exhibition team presented a broad spectrum of current developments and projects on the topics of IT security, secure information and communication systems such as BOS digital radio, HiMoNN and satellite communication and/or teleport services as well as tender and project management.
With more than 4,200 exhibitors and some 340,000 visitors, amongst them many decision makers, the number of visitors attending this year’s CeBIT again noticeably increased compared to the previous year. The IABG exhibition booth was a contact point for many expert visitors, some of them high-ranking guests. One of them was the president of the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Control, Christoph Unger who sought information on the support possibilities of IABG with its teleport services and a co-operation during the transnational crisis management EXercise LÜKEX. The areas of application of the BOS digital radio in disaster control were also discussed.
With Rolf Krost, president of the Federal Agency for Digital Radio of Security Authorities and Organisations (BDBOS), IABG’s exhibition team could furthermore welcome yet another important decision maker at the stand. He was interested in the topics of IT security, processes and revisions as well as radio network verification and the preparation of an operating manual for the authorized bodies of the federal states.
Other renowned visitors from politics at the IABG exhibition booth were in particular the Minister for Economics and European Affairs of the federal state of Brandenburg, Ralf Christoffers, Secretary of State Horst Westerfeld of the Hessian Ministry of the Interior and Sports (HMdIS) as well as the former Secretary of State in the Brandenburg Ministry of the Interior, Hans Jürgen Hohnen.
With Lieutenant General Kurt Herrmann of the NATO CIS Services Agency (NCSA), IABG also had a high-ranking discussion partner from the military sector. He initiated an intensive discussion about logistic and SAP systems in deployment and the possibilities of the military application of teleport services and BOS.
The large number of the high level discussions led by the exhibition team shows that on this year’s CeBIT IABG presented exactly the topics which users are currently focusing on. IABG can hence look back on another highly successful fair appearance at the CeBIT.
