IABG enlarges "Green Business" with new daughter company INTIS

The newly founded IABG subsidiary INTIS - Integrated Infrastructure Solutions GmbH with head office in Hamburg will focus on the development, implementation and operation of innovative and environmentally-friendly solutions and products. When working on projects in the main business segment “mobility, energy and environment”, INTIS will integrate the know-how and resources of the IABG group and will use further synergies in the process. It is to contribute considerably to the sustainable growth of the IABG group.

At the launch of the new enterprise, the focus of the new company will lie on solutions in the sectors of rail systems, transportation and energy production as well as energy storage. INTIS starts with three projects in its branch office in Lathen (Emslan

  • After service suspension of the “Transrapid Test Facility Emsland”, INTIS will take over the dismantling management on behalf of IABG.
  • In the project “inductive driving”, the focus is on contact-free re-charging of e-powered cars while driving. This technology is considered an economic range extension for e-cars, as long as appropriate battery capacities are not yet available. With partners, INTIS is currently setting up a test track for investigating the technical conditions for this innovative e-mobility concept in the context of a BMVBS funding project [Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Affairs]. For this purpose both the electric vehicles (power connectors) and the road infrastructure (power feed) need to be equipped appropriately.
  • INTIS will also dedicate its resources to the storage of temporarily available renewable excess energy, the significance of which will rise due to the change in energy policy in the coming years. For this purpose, a feasibility study for a “power-to-gas” facility is to be prepared, which will then be economically exploited with the help of investors, if the prognosis is positive.

As a future development focus for INTIS, the IABG group has identified services around wind energy plants which will be furnished together with our experts from Ottobrunn - from component tests up to life-cycle monitoring of entire wind parks. The best conditions are available in view of its proximity to the wind energy technology centre Hamburg, as well as with IABG’s active membership in the cluster Erneuerbare Energien Hamburg e.V. (EEHH) [Renewable Energies Hamburg]. For possible future solutions in the “Green Aerospace” sector, the vicinity to the aviation location Hamburg entails good conditions for INTIS as well.

With Dr.-Ing. Ralf Effenberger an experienced IABG manager could be won for the management of INTIS.
