Protection for our soldiers is more important than ever - IABG hosts a visit from the Förderkreis Deutsches Heer (FKH)

The Förderkreis Deutsches Heer e.V. (Association of the German Army) sees itself as a communication platform between parliament, German Federal Armed Forces and industry, which champions the provision of suitable, effective equipment and appropriate training to expedite the successful deployment of the German Army. To this end, it organises symposia on a regular basis, to which high-ranking representatives from the Federal Armed Forces and industry contribute their specialist expertise.

This year, the Association organised an event entitled “Force Protection – Technologies and Plans for Deployment“, which took place on 2nd and 3rd May 2007 in the IABG’s Technology Centre in Ottobrunn. Interesting lectures on the themes of convoy protection, military camp protection, weapons systems and container protection, in addition to other aspects of deployment, were held on both days, and were followed by a series of lively discussions. Famous guests from the Federal Armed Forces, industry and politics lent particular weight to the event, which was attended by over 100 participants.

The IABG, a long-term member of the FKH (AGA), took advantage of the opportunity to underline its expertise in this field, presenting new technological approaches and solutions on the theme of “Force Protection“.

Participant feedback proved consistently positive. The quality of the lectures, smooth organisation, positive atmosphere in the new IABG congress centre, and, last but by no means least, the Bavarian evening complete with an appearance by the regional costume group which rounded off the programme, all came in for particular praise.
