Requirements management, as it is understood at IABG, includes a holistic SE approach in accordance with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, which is adapted to project requirements and considers all sub-processes of requirements management, including potential improvement approaches.

This includes:

• Setting up a tool-based requirements management system using Require.7 (Bundeswehr tool) or DOORS NG, tailored to your needs, including configuration by roles to simplify user training and application.
• Gathering requirements based on technical analyses and simulations and harmonizing them with various methods, depending on the available time and stakeholders, up to the creation of specifications tailored to your needs.
• Documentation of the requirements in various forms - textual with/without database support, model-based according to various specifications such as MBSE, NAF architecture framework including additional information (attributes and links) and, in the case of a database-based tool, linking to relevant documents stored in other databases.
• Regular reviews of the ongoing requirement status by various stakeholders in IPTs/working groups. The requirements are continuously checked for gaps, necessity, clarity, contradictions, feasibility/risks, and impact on other departments, with insights and issues documented using additional attributes and linked files.

Through the use of database-based RM tools and leveraging our expertise, IABG has developed standard requirements and other artifacts such as test cases and evidence based on laws, norms and standards and documented them in a database in recent years. These can serve as a starting point for your project. If needed, we can develop standard requirements or commentary for additional or new laws, norms and standards tailored to your needs.

The scope of requirements management relevant to you as a customer can be defined in a Requirements Management Plan (RMP) in either German or English. This plan can be used to provide standardized, cross-organizational, and, if necessary, cross-company requirements management specifications to affected stakeholders, communicate them or contractually agree upon them with other parties (such as subcontractors).

The methods we use and further develop are based on or follow the standards of the IREB (International Requirements Engineering Board) and can be adapted to the specific needs of the customer or project.
