High Temperature Tests & Technology

Space missions increasingly aim at analysing the sun as well as the adjacent planet Mercury. The extreme temperatures there require the development of new materials and an optimisation of satellite design.
However, not only satellite manufacturers face major challenges. IABG as test house also has the task to further develop its test facilities and methods to match the requirements of these new missions. Our focus is the generation of temperatures up to 450 °C, the correct measurement of these temperatures as well as on the measurement of test item deformations if required.
In recent years IABG has thus performed important pioneering work in this field and developed methods allowing the European space industry to test their products for missions such as Bepi Colombo or SolO.
