EULE − Human Factors Laboratory for Defence

The soldier is not sitting inside the vehicle. There is no real scenario, no active mission − and yet everything feels real. Displays respond immediately, decisions have to be made under time pressure, processes interact seamlessly. This is exactly where EULE comes in.

With EULE (Ergonomics Evaluation and Testing Laboratory), we create an environment in which systems are not only conceived, but experienced. Not as abstract concepts, but in realistic operational use.

Usability, interaction, cognitive workload −  the factors that later determine success or failure −  are made visible early in the development process, long before deployment.

Decisions are made under stress, uncertainty, and often severe time pressure. If systems fail to operate intuitively in such situations, risks arise to the mission, the equipment, and the people involved.

Many of these problems originate much earlier, during the concept phase: unclear operating logic, insufficient feedback, overloaded users. With EULE, we move the analysis back to exactly that stage. We bring people and technology together early in the development process and create a reliable environment for informed, evidence-based decisions.
